WHERE WE STAND
The United States is the greatest country in the world and yet we are nowhere close to reaching our potential. Government should focus on what it's supposed to do, and do those things exceptionally well. The best and brightest should be drawn to public service, and provided the support and tools to take our country to new heights. Our government must be accessible, accountable and committed to advancing the rights and liberties of every American.
The REAL Party is fiercely independent. We believe our Federal government grew beyond its purpose, costs way too much, and delivers too little. As Americans, we deserve a government that is responsive and NEVER FORGETS who it works for. We also believe the two party system is failing. The ONLY way to improve the major parties is to force them to compete -- it's the American way after all.
Our principles are straightforward and leave room for a variety of ideologies, beliefs and approaches. These principles represent the views of the majority of Americans and deserve to be front and center in the national discourse. We exist to advance our ideals and not to tear down others. It's ok to bring attention to our differences with other parties but we will do so, respectfully, and in the context of promoting our proposals rather than simply tearing apart theirs.

ACCOUNTABILITY
All public officials, whether elected, appointed or hired, must be held accountable. It's time for increased reporting and oversight from the American people, based on facts and data.

FOCUS
Government has grown too much and lost sight of its primary responsibilities. It will never deliver to its full potential until it's made to put its resources behind what matters most.

AFFORDABILITY
Most Americans live within a budget. Our government should as well. Accountability and focus will help but more must be done to ensure taxpayer money is spent wisely -- there's far too much waste.

LIBERTY
Our founders were clear that liberty and the pursuit of happiness are for all Americans, not just some. Even those we disagree with deserve equal protection, it's at the heart of who we are as a people.

DECENCY
We must be respectful and considerate of the views of others. It's time to elect and appoint leaders with integrity, compassion, and who believe America's promise belongs to all. Character matters.
